yea they are cheapies, I didnt think the XM and OBD2 needed good ones. How do I find out if they do CTS/RTS.... could it be this is the reason my onboard serials dont work? maybe they arent doing the CTS/RTS?

Hey Mitch,
This may be buried in the 61 pages of this thread or possibly one of your other threads regarding HD radio and/or RR.

I seem to remember there was some modification you made to the wiring of your cable a while back that allowed the HD tuner to remain on even after RR and/or the computer was switched off and then come on immediately when the car was started instead of waiting until after RR opens. Didn't you also offer instructions on how to modify older cables?

once the comport closes, the tuner is OFF

I think maybe I found the issue. i think maybe my USB PCI card is causing a IRQ problem. Only reason I think is because I have my USB soundcard connected to the USB card, i have it set to 24bit mode, but when i plug in serial devices, like HD Radio, the Serial port cuts out. Im going to try to unplug the PCI card and see what happens.

We dont have HD stations in Estonia, but im wondering, will the HD radio recieve ordinary FM stations? Does it recieve RDS signal and how is the frequency range, odd numbers only or is the step 0,1 MHz. We have wrestled with HQCT for couple of months now, without any luck, so im trying to search good alternatives.

yes, it of course does ordinary FM, yes RDS
designed for USA step is .1mhz
BUT it will direct tune anything
there are a bunch of people using it now accross the pond
i cant recomend it, cause im in USA and dont know how it does out side USA

I have the original version of your cable. I remember reading way back when, that there was a mod that needs to be done to the cable, but was unable to find info in this thread. I have had some audio issues since installing your newest RR Builds. Mainly relating to winamp getting muted. Also after a resume the radio does not provide any audio. It seems somewhat random.
Any ideas?

make sure ur not using "Fadevolume" option, thats a NO NO

the mod doesnt need to be done, it just allowed sw control of the hw mute
