Why not ignition? That's how I have it now, yellow to battery, red to ignition. With that setup, the Visteon HDZ actually gets power on the red wire 5 seconds before the PC powers up, since the M2-ATX has a 5-second power-on delay. It's a simple matter for me to change the wiring, if you think that will make a difference.
As for iGuidance, yes I'm using it, on COM2. However, iGuidance does not automatically run when RR starts, only when I click on the navigation screen the first time. If I never click the navigation button, iGuidance doesn't run, and I still get these HD radio errors.
I didn't get to do any more experimenting yesterday, so I will have to wait until I get home from work tonight to mess with it. Thanks for your help.

at hibernation, ignition goes away, but the PC isnt off yet, it has to execute the hibernation procedure
its ur wiring :)
OMFG, I have it that way also......... that would explain why when I come out hibernation the d@mn thing doesnt respond. That also explains why sometime the PC is constantly trying to reinstall it.
UGH, another set back in my install. The HD radio was one of the first things I installed so getting through all the wires is a ******..
kross, i added a tiny bit of code, that will give u a more detailed failure info...
like if the port is in accessable... ie iguidance grabbed it
see at resume, if igudance running, even though it was connected on com2, might try to grab com1, make sure u DONT have iguance running at all, when u test this
just to be sure
Okay, I'll test out changing the wiring tonight when I get home. I'll also make absolutely sure iGuidance isn't running. I'll rename the .exe or something, just to be sure.
Thanks!

Changing the wiring seems to have done the trick! I'll know for sure after a few days, but it looks promising.
Thanks!

in RR, hd is on when RR is running, to all quick source changes, there should close to 0 wait for any source change. one thing of note, power is controlled via DTR line, so tecnically u can wire YELLOW/RED to 12v constant, and the PC still controls the power
danielkh, the radio isnt actually ON, when the PC is on, thats just a simplicity statement
In DFX4 I am unable to change the band of the radio. AM/FM...It doesn't do anything, Skin issue?
