just wanted to drop mitch a note, his service is cracking. Philadelphia to england in under a week! A*, don't know if the cable works yet as the tuner hasn't turned up.!
Well....Through no fiddling of my own for some reason the HD Radio skin in DFX decided to work today... I am still having a problem however that I have not had before. When RR opens up, I hear a pop in the speakers. If I disable HD radio this pop does not happen.
What is the line in plugin doing exactly? I have installed it to Winamp and had it selected in RR config. When I disable it I see no difference or change in functionality.
doug, the plugin is the audio path, if u use the winamp line in plugin, audio goes though winamp...vs ur mixer, and if ur using it, u MUST MUTE THE PLAYBACK pin on the mixer, so audio does not enter the mixer that way....
time to learn about audio in windows....
mitch

here a quicky windows audio lesson...
TYPICALY:
LINE IN audio enters the mixer at 2 points, a playback side and a record side
the playback side, feeds right to the output (speakers)
the record side (aka capture) sits waiting for some program to CAPTURE its data
now, if u dont need to use the winamp linein plug in i say dont, course with it, you CAN use all the winamp output dsp/eq stuff...
so if u use the winamp linein, u MUST mute the PLAYBACK side of the LINE in
anotherwards, if u close winamp, and still HEAR the line in, you didnt mute it
and of course the CAPTURE or record MUTE must be off, so winamp can capture
and play the audio
-Thanks

I'm currently using your cable with a USB serial adapter, and it only seems to work with the USB adapter. When I plug it straight into a serial port, it doesn't seem to want to do anything other then turn it on when windows boots up, and thats about it. I only hear it click once, and then it doesn't communicate. It only successfully worked the very first time I plugged it into an on-board serial, then after that it's basically stopped working by itself. Any thoughts?
