The construction and quality of Alpine is far better than the screens mentioned. It is not classified as sunlight readable but we have put these in many cars and had excellent results.
We have some questions that we would like to ask to help in our development path.
How are you planning on using the monitor? ie...stand alone monitor with or w/o using alpine features
Are you planning on using the monitor with all alpines features? Or will your carpc have all features that are wanted? ie... bluetooth/rear video output/ backup cam
If you are wanting to use the bluetooth in the alpine are you going to be happy with the onboard speaker they provide? There are no audio outputs that output the bluetooth audio.
How do you feel about having a modded screen? Would you purchase one or send yours in to be modded?
These are some questions that we need answers to help us figure out the final design of the interface. Thanks for your input.
Hi dude,

No bluetooth thru the speakers is a must... i havent really hooked mine up yet so im not sure how loud the speaker would be but bluetooth thru the speakers is the selling feature. I wouldnt really use it much personally thou

hi there, thought i would add some input
1) i would like to still use alpine features ie. AM/FM radio, basic audio features such as fader/balance and volume.... radio is a must for me, if this feature is not available i would probably reconsider as i use it alot
2) not to fussed with bluetooth, either way i happy. that said i dont know much about bluetooth functionality from a cap PC or headunit, but i would be after the abilitty to browse through contacts, make calls and possibly read text messages directly from the screen
3) as i am in another country, i would probably send you mine as i belive that there is some differences between countries such as DVD region and AM/FM tuning capabilities. if these issues were not present i would probably just purchase one from you
keep up the good work guys![]()
I do not think the interface will work with the 310 as it is a 1440x232 display. Also I would like to clarify that the TME-M740BT is not a head unit. It does not have am/fm/cd/dvd. It is a screen only desgined to be interfaced with alpines vehicle hub pro. All of your audio would be coming from you carpc. Here is a feature list from alpine:
• 7" WVGA Touch Screen Monitor
• 1.15 million pixels
• RGB 800x480, 16:9
• Built-in Bluetooth module
• Streaming Audio ready (requires Ai-NET to RCA)
• 2DIN mounting bracket for in-dash installation included
• 1 A/V input
• 1 A/V output
• Dedicated camera input with reverse sensor
• Provision for external Bluetooth microphone
Thanks for the replies, great input.
how much does any of this stuff cost? It seems to me that it just better to go with a vga monitor instead of hacking up an alpine monitor which cost the same if not more that a xenarc monitor. I can get a new xenarc 7inch tsv monitor for $300.00.
If you have the room in your dash that just maybe the way to go. But for those of us who dont want to hack our dashes up, Alpine is the way to go. Also the Alpines just look sexy. I would say that the screens can be found for about 350-400 and then our interface ballpark estimate 200-300. There are just so many advantages to using Alpine, if you got the money why not? Plus we are trying to keep it where the carpc plugs in to the alpine not hack the screen.
