If you turn off the V1, then hold the knob in while turning it on (hold it for about 5 secs) it'll enter the programming mode. Press and release the button and the bogey counter will show you the revision number.

Since you're already on the Porsche boards, I think the obvious choice to contact him would be you. Invite him over here to chat with Jim and the rest of us.

Since the project is an add-on to the capabilities of the V1, I don't see how he would have any problems with this project. We're going out and buying his product so he wins there. Any inside tips would keep us from blowing up our V1s.

hey sorry i have another Question, when it's plugged into the pc does it get power? or do you still have to hardwire it to your car? thanks! just wondering if I should go ahead and hardwire mine now or wait until later

Yes, but if he prevents people from blowing up their V1s, there's lost revenue from those folks that need to buy replacements

You still need to power the V1 from either the direct-wire kit or the cig lighter adapter.

The S1 interface is provided power from the serial port (unless Jim changes that part of the design).
