Yes, you basic sw work correctly in XP and RR embedded.
Do you make to know the developments hardware and sw, and interesting the project....
You have an electric scheme to see? ;)

The hardware shall be ready tommorow... :) will post pics

OK! ;)

Great, I cant wait. subscribed to thread
Very nice!!
Looking forward to see the hardware.
will it work for a 1994 ford explorer :-P?
Yea tell us more about the kind of controls you have to have to make this work. What was this designed for (what car do you have)
Ok this is a very simple but very useful hardware ..:)
Every car a/c has a blower and a compressor. The blower always has three wires for speed 1 ~2 ~3 when you touch these wire to +12v the blower goes on the desired speed. The knobs for the blower speed does this.
Then is the compressor that again is only one wire when touched to +12 the compressor clucth is activated making a cling noise.
Now what my hardware does is uses the three wire from the blower and one wire from the compressor.
You connect the three fan speed and the compressor wire to the hardware. when you start the unit (A/C on in the software) the blower is on at the same speed it was the last time it was on. The compressor will start after a delay of 30sec so there is no immediate load on the system (Blinking LED showing compressor on standy)
Then the compressor will kick on. There is a two digit numeric dispaly showing the current temp when you press the fan switch it changes the fan speed to 1~2~3~FA (fan auto) when in fan auto the fan speed is controled with the temp say if its to hot the fan will be on full and as the temp drops the fan will go solwer 3~2~1 ..
The temp is set from 16 ~30 deg C to set the temp you press the temp button on the software the display will show the set temp with the Blue and red arrow buttons you can either set the cutoff temp higher or lower.
The temp is sensed with the help of a sensor. A tiny black thing with wire this sensor is to be placed inside the blower so the actual temp is recorded.
OK now the best part ... this unit also has a REMOTE CONTROL..(for emergency) say if one day your PC craches on a hot sunny afternoon ..... Happend to me :( that means you cant use the A/c and you know how the turkey feels.
Well that when you can use the remote control and start the a/c set the temp fan speed ... NEVER use the PC and the RC together to control the unit. Will give undesired results. Always off the unit from the remote if used before starting the PC.
And last the Unit has a built in delay on timer that means it will start 10 sec after the pc boots thus eliminating the strange behavior of the LPT port.
The small A/C software which is included in the software package just makes sure the port bits are set to 0.
Well thats it for the brief documentation :)
How much should the delay time be .. i have calculated 10 sec more than enough.. open for suggestion.
Cheers
