If you have a look at the connector of the climate I assume you might find about 20+ wires connected to it. Its possible but a big job (a schematic or wiring diagram will make it a bit easier). An easier way is just to use the dials and buttons of the audi and interface them to you climate system. This way you would be bypassing all the electronics from the audi (you would loose the LCD, unless you add your own or work out how to control the original one). Post a pic of your climate system in your car.

I can support that statement, I've been at it for a while. In fact, I've been sitting here tonight working on converting both an automatic and manual version of a factory climate control head to schematic, to ensure my tie in points and methods will work properly. It gets pretty complex. Like this particular circuit I'm tracing has this votage divider circuit used in the A/C compressor request line that takes the input from the intake temp sensor and compares it to a reference current. The connectors on the back total 36 pins.

Good luck with the project, unfortunately for you most of what you'll find here is PC related interface ideas and implementations.... I still wonder what happened to Mastero.

i dont necessary want to keep the display or the auto c/c etc all i want to do is press a button n the vents mova accordingly

How many of the controls are cable driven. Since the most difficult part of this would be to make up a custom bracket and mount a servo on it, so it can control your vents. Thats what I ended up doing. I was lucky though for me there was a nice spot to put the bracket and servo. I'd recommend you to somehow connect a servo to these cables first. Controlling them is not that hard. Or you could check to see if a later model of your car has motor control and you might be lucky and you could mount the motor to the cable control.

Just a little follow up... has anyone heard from this guy? I found his website and thought the product was layed out quite nicely... then I come on here and see that no one has heard from him. Makes me wonder about ordering. So whats the latest?

Also, if there is another direction, I'm looking for a complete HVAC solution for my 2000 BMW Z3. I'd like something that already has software which I can tweak and embed in RR and mod a skin to become a 'tall' skin leaving room at the bottom for the hvac controls to always be viewable/accessible (or something along these lines...)

Hmm yeah, Mastero seems to be gone. You might be able to email him from his site, but dont quote me on that If you want an alternative direction have a look at the Fusion Brain thread. Its smaller and more supported.
