For the native GooPs remote tracking, the vehicle you are tracking needs to be "visible" to you on the network. That means it needs to be setup with a static IP address. I believe verizon mobile broadband will give you a static IP (for a fee). I also believe there are mobile VPN solutions available.
This fall I will hopefully release a remote tracking solution that will not require a static IP or VPN (but will require a static server of some sort).

The latest version of Google earth created an new bug for me... In every position update the camera zooms out just a little bit, about 50 feet. This happens with auto zoom deactivated of course. if i activate autozoom then it keeps the predefined height. Auto rotate and tilt don't affect it. I cant figure it out... and it started with the last version of google earth (beta 4.0.1693). I had a previous version of beta 4 and had no problem.
Has anyone noticed the same problem??
Will never be DONE! There is always something to add

GooPs crashes my Google Earth every time I try to use it. I start GooPs, click start demo, it loads up GE and then GE exits out and GooPs is frozen. It even happens when I start GE first. I have GE version 4.0.2091 (beta).
Thanks, that worked great. I am having another problem though. GooPs seems to keep tracking me at a place I already was when I'm back home. I delete the server from my places in GE and click the clear track button, then start GooPs again and the arrow is at the place I was, not where I am at home right now. Any suggestions?
Do not add GooPs to my places (either that, or do not have GooPs auto-run GE for you). When GooPs runs GE, it creates a network-link in temporary places. If you also have an old one in my places it will conflict. (either that or your GPS is not working)
DAVID: I really, really, really want to use GooPs inside of RREarth. RREarth just loads up GE and embeds it in RR. It kills any popup promts, allows you to enter addresses for directions, and just makes GE a part of RR. It also does GPS stuff like GooPs does, but GooPs is a ton better. The problem is that it is only compatible with GE4. In my experiance, the current release of GooPs doesn't work well in GE4 at all. If you have any free time to continue to development on this project, PLEASE make it stable in GE4.
FYI: GE3 is no longer available on Google at all.
Hey RPM,
What are the major issues you are having with GooPs/GE4?.
There are a couple of things I can't fix on the GooPs side, hopefully they will fix them in the release version.
-The view keeps zooming out when AutoZoom is not on.
-Network link warning on startup.
I haven't looked at the png stuff yet. I'll do that soon.
Have you tried the latest GE4 beta? I believe they addressed some image processing issues.
google earth 3 is still available, it's linked via a very small font

that being said, I have the same issues with Goops running GE4 the 9/16 version. Goops opens GE4, locks up, and closes GE4, this is in activex or opengl modes.
TruckPC - gutted, being used for test setup
BoatPC - off season - Inelmac screen needs serviced again!
