Is there no change in color when you go above 100kph ?
Was somehow red from 100-210kph.
Hi David,
A Dotted/Dashed line (Easily distinguishable from the Actual Track) that predicts the Anticipated Track through Interpolation, should the Vehicle continue on its current heading.
This could be a simple linear interpolation based on the current speed and heading or ,if for example the vehicle happens to be in a turn, then the Anticipated/Projected Track would be represented by an ARC based on the current rate of turn of the vehicle.
The colour and length of the Anticipated/Projected track could be made configurable as a function of speed.
Hope this somewhat clarifies the issue!
Thx again

David,
Is it possible to create a custom demo that will play in demo-mode, rather than the default-file.
Is the demo-file similar to the NMEA log files created when recording a trip (for example). Is the file naming convention consistent with the regular recorded NMEA logs.
Thx
Im just driving on the german "Autobahn" there are parts with no speed limit, so no racing just normal driving![]()
Hi David,
Thanks for the response on "Demo" files, and I hope the earlier explanation on Projected/Anticipated Track made sense!
Thx again.

I may have missed this but some where in the begin of this thread I read about tracking a vehicle from home, I never really understood the "host" part, with goops running in my Yukon I have "me" selected and I see myself driving where ever (is it possible to rename that?), I have Alltel EVDO card in my laptop so an always on internet connection while mobile (very cool I might add) so at home on my desktop I have goops running with GE, so in the name box would I add "me" and in the host box I would add what exactly?
Hey DeputyDave,
You can rename "Me" by going to the GooPs Options dialog, in the Add/Update Vehicle are select "Me" from the "Id" dropdown list. Click in the "Name:" text box and type your new name. That's it.
For tracking yourself with an EVDO connection your best bet is to use the new gpsgate.com location server integration - it's free. Instructions below:
Using GooPs with GpsGate.com
The GooPs/GpsGate.com integration allows you to:
(Purchase of Franson GpsGate is not required)
- Track your GpsGate.com Buddies
- Let others track you using GooPs or GpsGate.com
To track your GpsGate.com "Buddies" in GooPs you need to have an account on the GpsGate.com location server. The GpsGate.com location server will allow you to configure and manage your buddy lists. Click here to set-up your free BuddyTracker account.
Once you have a GpsGate.com account and you have set-up your Buddies, there are two steps required to configure GooPs to track your Buddies:
Set up your GpsGate.com account information:
Add your GpsGate.com "Buddies" as GooPs vehicles:
- In the GooPs Options dialog press the "External Server Setup..." button.
- In the External Server Setup dialog:
- Enter your GpsGate.com User Name and Password
- Enter the desired update rate in seconds
- Check the "Enable" box
- Check the "Send My Position" box if you want location updates sent to GpsGate.com - this will allow your Buddies to track you.
- In the GooPs Options Dialog "Add/Update Vehicle" area:
- Press the "New" Button
- Enter the user name of the "Buddy" you want to track in the "Name" field
- Enter the string "gpsgate.com" in the "Host" field.
