Not sure how I missed this post... but yeah...

If you get the SPDT (single pole double throw) relays, they have a normally closed and a normally open pole. you just have to wire to the correct pole.

    Hope that helps

    Hi W3bma5t3r,

Is your email playing up again ?

Left a PM and sent a contact message with questions on your " buy module " site ?

Sorry new to this but wanted to know before I bought one ,

if you dont plug in the USB safety lead , have windows set up so to hibernate and then push the remote emegency button on dash again, would it act as a shutdown to hibernation ?

    thanks

Hey, not sure what's up with my email... sorry :-\

The remote emergency button overrides everything, so whether or not the USB safety lead is plugged in, it will be like pressing the laptop power button.
It will act however Windows is setup in the Power Management section to act.

If you have "When power button is pressed, do:" set to "hibernate", then if you press the laptop button or the remote power button, it will put the laptop into hibernation.

    Hope that helps...
    Cheers

So once I have set to " hibernation when button pressed " , will pressing it bring it back from hibernation too ?

How do you bring your system back from hibernation ?
as my setup is similar to the one in your cobra

The module replicates/duplicates you pressing the button, so when the car is turned on, the module 'presses' the button and turns the system ON (from hibernation or whatever).

To turn the system OFF, you can press the remote button, or have the Windows power management set to go into hibernation when power is lost (car turned off - This is really for laptop setups - so it will be a graceful shutdown).

    Great

That's what I needed to clarify in my muddled head

So if I got a carnetix 1900 and one of your modules then I would be good to go ?

As I am having trouble with my connection to your website can you drop me a line with how much for one of your modules to the UK

    Cheers

Actually if you're going to be using the carnetix 1900, you don't need one of my modules, as the carnetix has the same functions built in. Just check the site (here or the carnetix site) for more info on hooking it up.

right now I am really confused

Your Cobra sig says you are using a Laptop, a Carnetix 1900 and your module ??

So are my power options for running a Laptop :-

    1) 19v DC/DC ciggy car power adapter and your module

    2) Carnetix 1900

Everytime I think I have this install straight in my head it all goes

You are correct, those are the options you have.
