To clarify, I am not running a headunit. The only devices on, what used to be, the radio accessory line are a minitouch 700, remote wire for an amp, and the auto-on circuit.
On a more relevant note (to this thread), how have others mounted this in the past? Small project box?
then I think you have something wrong. all those devices should only take 2-3 amps max.. do you have a clamp meter that can read DC? or run a meter in-line with a 10amp fuse to not pop your meter..
Do not have a clamp meter. Bought a meter that could measure 10 amp, but the display is bad. Hopefully I can exchange it tonight and try to determine what I did wrong.
Does anyone out there have the schematics for this module? He doens't have it hosted on his site anymore and I'm having trouble with my unit. I've continuity tested the input to the computer (that's wired to the power button) and it's constantly connected while the module is disconnected.

Just a quick follow up, it was a really simple issue. Vibrations had shifted the resistor so it's lead was touching another component's lead. Bent it back straight and put shrink over it for good measure and I'm in business.
Been struggling with this for weeks.
Hoping someone may be able to post a simplified circuit in laymans terms.
- cig extension plug (only live when ignition is on)
- remote momentary switch (2 wires, conenct them together or press the button and the netbook powers up).
I've been trying to patch this circuit in to power the netbook on when ignition is first switched on. I only used the top half of the design (cap, diode, relay) as I don't need flyback protection etc. If the netbook's already powered and the switch is pressed, nothing happens (as per settings), so that's cool.
Any assistance mush appreciated.
