Shot you an email with the info. You are correct though, for your setup, what you requested in the order request form sounds perfect.

Thanks mate.
I just made the payment.
hey there,
Hows the shutdown part comming along. I am looking to make this module so if I can get the shut down part that would be awosme....
Thanks..
Hey guys,
I have modified the circuit to work with a 555 timer IC and shut down/Stanby/hybernate when you turn the car off.
Any one want to test it for me. I dont have the time.
The only problem I have with this is that when the car is off the laptop cannot run. As soon as you turn it on it will shutdown/ hybernate in whatever delay is set.
Any suggestions are welcome.
Sorry I, nor mrfrankmrfrank has gotten around to building/posting the startup/shutdown module/circuit. I personally have been swamped with a million things on my plate. I do have one question for you though, how much current is required to trip that DPDT 5v relay? because the usb line can only supply 500mA, and alot of times, the laptop lines are less than that. The 5v relay used in my circuit is a SPDT MINI relay and it's coil activation mA draw is about 200mA and I know for a fact from testing on two different laptops, that the USB line could NOT activate two of those at a time. I would actually have to have two seperate usb powered lines, one for each relay. Kinda sucked. lol. Though being in a single package, the DPDT might work just fine... :)
Well,
I took that part of the circuit from your diagram posted in this thread, but ill try and find out for sure.
Well if some one here feels like testing this circuit and using it go ahead and let us all know if it works. In theory it should work, but then again.
If I do get arround to getting the compoents I will test it myself.
Would there be any concern with the current in this circuit? I noticed there is not a current limiting resistor in series with the ACC or USB voltage line? It might be something to consider.
what values should i use for the resistors assuming that i want the laptop to poweroff after 5/7 seconds after the car is turned off? (i dont know much about electronic stuff).
This should help:

Your goal is an output of around 6000 milliseconds.
Could Someone please tell me , where i can buy one, i know i can make one but i havenīt know how to make one, i donīt have any knowledge !!
