rock99rock,
I decided not to do this because the buttons are pretty small as is. The main concept for these buttons is to be easily accessible to the user without much effort. The buttons are .375" tall by .390" wide right now. Draw that on a piece of paper and compare it to the size of your finger to get a good idea. Smaller wouldn't be as good, IMO.
In addition, wouldn't six buttons (and a rotary encoder) be enough? Don't get me wrong, the more the merrier, but six should suffice for the major uses. Most of the other buttons or commands will be on the touchscreen itself. The six are just shortcuts. Maybe Menu,
Radio,
Music, SAT, XM, Phone or similar would do the trick.
This reminds me, I would like input from everyone as to what button names are priority or useful to you. Here's a starter list:
Menu, Radio, Music, Phone, XM, SAT, Sirius, Web, DVD,
Video, Camera, PC I/O, PC Reset, the different play arrows like: "<<", "<", "|>", ">>", "||" etc... Anything else? Give me some suggestions.
