good stuff but crap 1k is a lot it seems reasonable given what it will be able to do and the labor

Hi Terran,

We can print just about anything we want onto the buttons. The problem is deciding on what to print. There are TONS of things ranging from numbers, dots, solid black key tops, letters, symbols (like play, pause, etc), acronyms like FM, XM, CD, DVD home, etc, and more. There is no way to decide which one out of all will be most popular. It's not cheap to re-tool the machines to print different legends, so we cannot just do them all. So, for now all we have is the UP/DN, 1-6 buttons.

$999? That is a lot of money. I can get entire systems (screen included) built with that price. I really hope that you guys will provide a sensible discount for multiple orders, or I just won't be able to consider this monitor as a viable alternative for our current business venture (as much as I'd like to).

Would it be realistic to assume that the CT650B will be ready for distribution by January?

We will offer a quantity discount. Please feel free to contact me to discuss this once the screens hit the market. Also, keep in mind the benefits of our model (including but in no way limited to: the top-notch US based manufacturer-direct support, full USB control/customization, upgradability, etc). We will release an SDK that will contain all of the commands to control the unit. This should contain everything you need to interface with gizmod.
On a side note, may I ask what your plans are for the CT650A?

Probably not. Once we get the CT650A on the market we will have to balance both the design process for the CT650B, as well as the production and shipment of the CT650A. since we're looking at mid-december (as of now) to start the shipment for the CT650A's, January is pushing it for the CT650B.

I'm afraid it's a bit classified at the moment.

I should have more information for you by the time the screens hit the market.
Is there any way we can get access to the SDK before the screen is released in order to get a head start on the Linux side of things?
