The SDK is not ready to go yet. We can release it to you before the screens are shipped, however, you'll need to keep in mind that there might be some slight changes to the commands over time as the initial firmware is revised. We will publish those updates as they happen. Send me an email and let me know you'll need a copy of the SDK manual.

    I like the layout
But I dont like the buttons
    They kind of look plain
Could you make them more smooth
    and a integrated look like

The rubber buttons just kinda makes it look cheap
Maybe like a clear plastic or just black plastic surface buttons

    Hello,
What kind of FM tuner are you going to put in 650B? I'm asking because I'm planning to use Centrafuse and they only support some devices. You can, however, add a custom device by adding a plugin/driver, as seen with Infill g4. CT650B looks to be EXACTLY what i need, but I gotta make sure that the radio module is something I'll be able to use.

    Thanks!

The design for the first production run is already set in stone. Maybe later...

We haven't settled on a tuner for the CT650B yet. Do you have any modules in mind? I'd like to put HD radio in it, but the only HD receiver that I know of that would work is MP3Car's BoomzBox, and I'm not sure how that would work out. It looks a bit large to fit into the CT650B's case.

To be perferctly honest, I don't care much for radio: All the buttons are controlled via USB, so all i need from CT650B is the built in amp. I can buy a usb radio dongle that is compatible with Centrafuse and then make sure that buttons on the display switch station within the front-end.

By the way, how are you going to control amplifier's volume? Is it going to be amplifying the signal from the soundcard passively? I think a dedicated module would be preferable, since Windows sometimes messes with the sound volume, and you might end up with all 60Wx4 blasting your eardrum when you turn on your car. I think a separate knob, or maybe an ability to control the amp independent of Windows is preferable. If the only way to turn down the volume would be through Windows mixer, a lot of people are going to run into major problems

Good point! There will be a fairly simple set of options that can be set over the USB connection. These are: bass, treble, front/rear, left/right, and on/off. Normally, these can be set once and then the Windows mixer can control the volume from that point on. However, I will be sure that this option is easily accessible for those who choose to use it. Also FYI, in my CarPC system I use a 4x75 amp alongside a 1x400 for the sub. Both amps are set at full volume (they don't have volume controls). The inputs from both are wired together and then to the PC's speaker output. I've never had any issues with Windows changing the volume to 100% on accident. Windows will remember the volume settings.

so, if i understood you correctly, there will be a way (via usb or via buttons, which is essentially the same thing) to adjust the amplifier volume without adjusting Windows volume. The reason I keep bringing it up is because windows is known for hanging and replaying the last half a second of sound over and over, like a broken record. I can see myself driving on the highway, windows freezes, and I start mashing Volume Down button, which is supposed to go over usb, to computer, where it figures out to lower the amplifier volume. THe only thing is, windows is frozen, so volume will not be affected. It'd be nice if a volume up/down can be made to adjust amplifier volume independent of the computer connected to it. Is this possible in the current hardware design?

Yes, it will be possible in the CT650B and CT650PC. That is more of a firmware feature, not really a hardware feature. It can be customized through settings to work whichever way you want it to.
