There hasn't been anything on this thread for a couple of weeks now. We're waiting on 2 (final) prototype parts. Once we give them the OK we'll get into production. If they aren't ready then we will have to make corrections and send out for an additional prototype run.

    Who's ready for one?

Got to admit it has been so long I am considering just getting a Kenwood unit and making do.....

It's nearly a year now? How long before the all in one, with nano-itx etc? Maybe another year. I'm all for it, just dunno how much longer I can wait

    Agreed.
Nearly a year from conception and still no finished product to speak of. I believe to be competitive one must be able to get through the R&D process much quicker than what's already been happening. I'm afraid that I'll be at a Go / No Go position sometime Feb/Mar. By that time if the units are not in full swing production/deliveries, I'm going to have to come up with an alternative solution. As much as the CT650B meets all of my needs, I can't sacrifice complete CarPC usage on the basis of blown timelines and right-shifting promises. What's that archiac term - "S**t or get off the pot". Not to be crued but, we're almost into 2008 and still not one fully serviceable product delivered to a customer.

I have been thinking all along that the CT650PC would be an all in one solution with an amp...but now I am not so sure....think it is amp (b) or pc (PC).... bummer!

No, the CT650PC is the same as the CT650B, but with a computer built-in. And it will not take an additional year for the CT650PC to ship because we're not starting over with a brand new product. Most of the work from the CT650B will carry over into the PC.

To those who are unhappy about waiting:
We apologize. There's not much more we as a company, or I, can say that will change the situation. This product line has taken an extraordinary amount of R&D, and for many unforeseen reasons. I must add, most companies will not directly involve their customers in the process, so you only hear about the product when it's finally being released. Most companies take a very long time to build their products - you just don't hear about it on the consumer side. What we have done is chosen to provide a way (this thread) to involve any of our future customers who might want to add input, suggestions, or more, that would make this a great unit for them. As a result, you knew about this product since January '07. I can understand that it may be frustrating because they're not shipping yet, but consider the alternative of not knowing anything about it. Also, take into consideration some other products that you might have had to wait for. We're not just making a circuit board or a plastic part, we're making a complete unit where each part must work correctly, and mesh perfectly with each other. It takes time.

Looking forward, we are currently working with what should be the last prototype we'll need to have made. If all goes well (and it is thus far) then we will be starting production right before the end of the year, or the first week of January. And if the prototype still needs reworking, the units won't go into production until the corrections get made. At this point I highly doubt it will carry on into Feb/Mar, but there really are no guarantees. Just know that we, as a team, are working VERY hard on this (both night and day)!

    I hope everyone understands.
