    Hey Brett,
You mentioned several days ago that you will find out from your electrical engineer if the noise on the VGA line (I think you said that was the problem) going to take a long time to fix. Any news on that?
I'm aiming to buy CT650B - amp and radio tuner. So far the only AM/FM tuner I could find is HQCT. HQCT v3.0 already has a built-in amplifier on board. Doesn't it make more sense for you guys to try to integrate HQCT into CT650A (which is what the B version really is), rather than use a separate amplifier and a custom usb radio chip?
You can take a look at HQCT v3 here: http://www.datalex.be/html/car_tuner.html
And maybe if you guys buy it bulk, you'd be able to cut down on the $200 price tag

The main problem with the HQCT devices is the price. They're way too expensive, and they wouldn't come down enough. We can build the daughterboard for cheaper than the HQCT alone at the price they quoted a while back. We'll also have GPS onboard...

We did hear back from the engineers. As of now there are some changes being made, and we expect to test the next prototype during the first week of April.

im not too sure of this has already been asked, but is it possible to swap out the cdrw/dvd-r for a cdrw/dvdrw? or is that dvd-r a writable one? that would be perfect for backups of data on the pc and (ahem) backups of movies. from blockbuster

Its been a while since I wrote on this thread, but this is one of my stick-horses (?) in worklife as well as private live.

    IMHO

Don't try to make a thing into everything. It will never end.

If you want to have a home PC in the car, fine, but I think most of us want a PC driven embedded system. If you want to configure the system or make backups or whatever, connect to the PC with VNC.

If you know the proper english word for stick-horse, please pm me :-)

Virtual Network Connection, like being in your office when you are not.

It's a CD-R/RW and DVD-ROM drive. No DVD writing capabilites. Also, there is not a replacement model for this that supports DVD burning that we are aware of.

B-O: I think you're right on target. Most don't need a DVD burner. Remote file sharing and VNC over WiFi to make changes works very well for the rare times it's needed. How did your project turn out in the BMW?

Well, hrm, not just yet in the car :-D

Going on Year 3. Will install in a month or two.

Maybe I should have waited for your unit instead of buying a CID650 and got the extra USB candy.

But it looks nice! (At least I think so)

What display is this? This doesn't look like CID650 at all.
