JUSt wondering if it was possible to use Curiosity's Compass to incorporate int webtracker. The compass has a log utility and each time u restart or hibernate and come back it creates a log based on the date and such. Would it be able to upload those logs onto the server and also on the server break it down with a calendar.

For example if you click on July 4th it will show the logs from the day...and so forth...

I'll see what I can do. I'm wanting to add additional features to this, but I want to ensure the program rewrite is working better before I start on adding more, and I haven't really heard back from anyone yet on the new program... let me know guys... I don't want to add features if the program as a whole isn't working for you lol.

    Later....

Talking about problems... Its not a problem with the program itself but for some reason on the server when i view the "points" there is no date...

Is it all points or just some? If it's only some points, it's because there wasn't any date/time data uploaded with that Lat / Lon entry. There are two GPS sentences used, one of which provides the date/time data. If it happens that sentence is invalid at the time of upload, the data will be empty/null... so it appears as there is nothing there. I'm currently rethinking the date/time side of the program. I might just pull it from the OS itself so that it's always good... probably should.. lol

Looks like I'm having issues with mine. The program seems to log fine, and shows the data string in the correct box. I first started the program using GPSGate, the program showed nothing in the satellite box, and a C in the fix box. Closing GPSGate, I still get the data string, an X in the fix box, and still nothing in the satellite box. I adjusted the COM port accordingly for both tries. As of yet, no points are being showed on the map when I log in. I also tried playing around with the XPort program, and kept getting some kind of driver error. I'm using Vista, if that makes a difference.

Well, I wasnt able to get a date reading on each point...it wasnt just a select few. Manybe by gabbing it from the OS it would be better.

Very quick on the calendar. I dont wanna be a pest, but with the calendar, would you be able to display the calendar month and lets say July 12 it logged some points, july 12 would be "BOLD" meaning there is data logged to that day.

    Great work man!

wbmstr - How does this new version deal with online / offline & logging now ? Ie is it inteligent enough to know the diffrnence and store logs untill its back on line etc etc.

BTW - Another suggested feature.... basic messging between clients.... you have the two way communication in place - why not use it

I think I'm gonna have to play around with GPSGate, cuz you're the second person to have a problem with it and W3bTracker... Have you tried running the program without any gps data splitters? I'm not sure about XPort3 not working for you... I don't have Vista and I don't know if it will run... Might be a question to the XPort3 author...

Thanks... and yeah I think with the next version the date/time will be pulled from the OS. As far as highlighting the dates that have logs for those days... It might take some work, cuz the calendar is Javascript based... which I'm not really familiar with at all.. lol (anyone?? wanna help?? )

No.. program is still stupid in that respect, but I'll be working on it...

Messaging... the program is actually only one way, gps to w3btracker, w3btracker to server, then you view the data on the server, pulled via the website.

I'll think about it though and see what I can do...

@ everyone... other than a possible GPSGate incompatibility, how's it working?
