    @Maheriano
    If u are driving mostly in places where ppl are living just get a Wlan card, there is always people that have their internet connections unprotected and I once found a nice little piece of software that connected to any unprotected hotspot it found... that should do the trick... otherwise see if there is any telephone suplier that has USB modem support...here in sweden there are some that offer broadband (2Mb/s) through 3g for as low as 9.9 a month with free traffic!

    @W3bMa5t3r
    Just tried the new version, had a quick check at the log and it seems that I don't have any errors in it this time, just going to delete my old upload and then re-upload the new one...going to delete all but each 50th line or something from the huge one...

    A small suggestion, in the "view & delete points" part on the webpage, would it be possible to group them in dates or something, that u can expand... I'm trying to delete all of my 2600 points by the 100 that I can view...
    Maybe also some way to name the trips for easier viewing for guests... so that they can choose "trip to ocean", "vacation" and so on? vbmenu_register("postmenu_1099904", true);

    To follow up on that, if you're using Wifi the program to get is www.wifihopper.com.

    That being said, I tried Wifi for a while and found it less than satisfactory. I wound up getting a Sprint USB air card and couldn't be happier with it. The coverage and speeds are great. It's $60 per month, but since it's USB I can move it from my car to my home computer and eliminate the need for separate Internet service at home. I don't know much about Calgary/Alberta, but my guess is that it's fairly heavily populated so you would be able to use a cell carrier there that would provide broadband speeds. You may want to check it out.

    Steve,

    I just visited the map. The point numbering is huge. Thanks a lot for incorporating that.

    NP I'm glad I got it fixed before you checked it out though lol. I had the numbering backwards when I first had it up DOH!. Oh well, I'm coming off of 6 months of night shift and going to day shift for the next 3... the mind is bound to bungle a few things up... (that's gotta be the reason... )

    Does anyone have this proggy working with the DeLorme Serial Emulator? My logs only show my username and UID and a bunch of commas. Debug says something about Preparsed GPS sentence and it shows a good NMEA data sentence. The skin show sat # fine, however does not show the sentence. I'm lost.

    Can you log some of the data coming out of the DeLorme Serial Emulator? with hyperterminal, newest Xport, or whatever. If you can shoot me some I can check it out and see what's going on.

    @everyone...
    Just took my car out for a ride and tested out the software w/ my two different gps receivers (an older HI-204E and my new BU-355/5). Also had my (for tracking only) boost mobile phone going w/ Mologogo. W3bTracker actually kept on route, with better results than Mologogo.
    Oh, and no one had asked about it, but I was running W3bTracker, went into hibernation and back out, it picked up where it left off and kept on tracking. Sweeeet

    haha, a million people live in Calgary and the Alberta oilsands provide most of Canada's oil which in turn provides 19% of the world's oil supply. Trust me, the guys on those rigs would kill without internet in the camps! Sorry, just laughed when I read that!

    But I know exactly what you're talking about, I used to troubleshoot those for Telus. It's $100 a month here for the unlimited data package. I've been thinking about getting one. Little pricey though.

    Ouch, $100 is pretty steep. I was actually balking at $60 per month for the Sprint data card until:

    1. My good friend who works at Sprint told me that under the Sprint employee friends and family program I could get it for $30; and

    2. I found out that I could use the card on my home PC and cancel my home Internet, thereby saving $30 per month.

    So basically I'm not paying anything for Internet in the car.
