    british english

    it also seems a little tempramental about inputting into text fields - sometimes it will work ok, other times pressing a letter will deselect the program. On another OSK I tried they had to use a 'buffer' button to get round this, which works but is not ideal.

    I think the problem is in the kb.ini file can you please change
    ICON = 954,729
    to
    ICON = 0,0
    Then you should have the icon on the topleft of you screen

    Hope this helps

    I really don't know the problem, I tried running on my laptop which has british English Keyboard and it works fine and also does not lose focus.
    Did you happen to change something in the ini file ?

    This keyboard works the same way like the OSK which comes with windows 2000.
    After getting the window you want on top, use alt again and not enter .

    Hope this helps

    Yeah! It helps tons! I don't use the XP OSK because it's too small, I didn't know how to use the task switcher in it either aparently. I have a small IR keyboard which is a pain in the butt for just a little text. This OSK is tons better then the one in XP. I still can't enter text in Word or Excel but I suppose it's not that big of a deal, I'd probably use my IR keyboard anyway.

    Can you tell me the sequence how you are trying to use the keyboard with word ? cause after starting Winword, if I click on word and then use the keyboard it works fine except using Alt key to access menu. also the shortcut like ctrl+s works. Can you try it and tell me know if it works.

    Well i kinda figured it out. I always started Word, then the OSK. I made sure that the cursor was in the Word Doc flashing,then started typing. The keyboard became on top of Word and nothing would show up in work. After reading your post I tried again, this time I alt/tab/alt to Word and started typing and it works fine! A bit clumsy but at least it works. And for the few minutes that I used it, it seems to be even faster then using the IR keyboard. That IR keyboard is really a piece of crap, barely usable. I'd like to toss it but it was cheap and has a built in ball/mouse.

    Thanks again for your help,

    Tim

    yep works 100%.. is there anyway say to return focus to the previous app, to save u tabbin through.. so say

    start notepad
    click keyboard icon, and just type rather than having to return focus to notepad first?

    this way it would be more user friendly, bit like the keyboard on my ipaq
    cheers

    Steve
