you need to split them into pairs, FF FF FF is white. Thats why 255 255 255 is white.
The # symbol tells you its in Hexidecimal (Base 16. 1 to 9 then a,b,c,d,e,f)

Eash pair is one colour, Red, Green, Blue. so #00FF00 would be Green. also 255000 is also green in decimal. As is #0000FF is blue, and 255 is blue in decimal..

If you need me to write a converter let me know, I'm sure theres plenty around already.

if you do 255x255x255 thats the number of colours you have to display 16581375 different combinations :-)

    Not exactly... But close.

There are 16,777,216 colors in a 24 bit number.

You have to remember to include the 0 in each triplet.

    So 256x256x256 = 16,777,216
    or 2^24

16,777,215 would be the highest and 0 the lowest.

how about intergating the UK speed camera database into mappoint and then when approaching the speed camera your GPS program could give an audiable warning.

"Warning speed camera approaching 30 mile an hour"

how cool would that function be.

Yeah I fully understand the app needs to be 100% before adding an extras.

SilentAdmirer - been having a go at re-skinning.. i'm after moving all the buttons onto the same page, I have tryed moving the buttons from gps_ctrl to gps, but they dont map. Would it be to hard to get these to map on either page ? The skin i'm doing is in the very early stage's but I have uploaded it so u can take a look.. its at
    www.cdrpro.co.uk/cdrskull.jpg

I have also incuded a sat gauge and a speedo, these were just a idea. I also thought about sticking a bearing on. But I need to read up on gps data to see how hard/easy getting this info would be

    cheers

    Steve

Getting the buttons from the control will need some rework.About the GPS data. There will be provision for making plugin dll in the app to get some GPS and Map data for eg the next direction but rite now there is no way to get it from the app you might have to use com port splitter to get the GPS data.
