    MSDN also allows me to get this.

    I'm downloading MapPoint 2004 now and testing later. I didn't know it was the right mapoint.

    I'll be using MapPoint 2004 N. America / Windows XP SP1 / Serial RandMcNally GPS.

    Feature Request:
    1. Auto reroute if off on route. (I dont think the auto route in the ini file is the same, if it is, it's not working for me.)
    2. key mappings so it could use remote.

    next two would nice to have
    3. for voice when saying street name for: rd it would be nice if it could say road, or like w would be nice if it could say west, and so on. hard to under stand the speech engine.
    4. is a personal one. To have the destination parsed from an external .txt file that contains only the address (maybe have in the ini file).
    I know I could use the ini file to have it route to the home (could be the dest), but i dont want to use the speech recognition to route back to home, although its nice i just dont want to set up a microphone too.

    Otherwise its a great and better program than agps, plus doesn't eat up my cpu like agps does for some reason.

    I have a question for you SilentAdmirer

    Lets say i wanted to enter .5 miles in the INI file to auto recalculate the route. What is the proper way ? is it 0.5 or just .5 or will it only accept integers (whole numbers)?

    I ask this becasue when you helped me setup the auto recalculate and i put in 1 mile it works fine. If put in .5 miles it auto recalculates every few hundred feet. Then i get all sorts of screens flashing on and off all the time.

    Ya got any input on this one?

    1) Everyone seems to have problem with Auto route, will test it and see whats the problem. I have never tested this feature properly.
    2) Key mapping is there in the next version
    3) Converting Abbreviation to full text will be done very soon not in the next release but do have some ideas for it.
    4) In the near feature it will have option for history and fav places.

    @anitmatter
    I will take a look at it in the evening after office. Have to go to office now. Let me see whats the problem

    Talking

    @Silentadmirer -
    Finally tested it under Windows 98 (Note MS Virtual PC uses Soundblaster 16 ISA emulation, which won't work with Win98 SAPI 5.1, VMWare however uses SB 16 PCI which does work with SAPI 5.1 - This was quite annoying to find out after installing Win98 etc then running into problems!)

    It seems to work OK the first few times I have tried it (In VMWare), I'll let you know if I have any problems on the real Win98 box.

    well here's an ipod skin for dashPC.

    It's very similar to the iPod look. Unfortunately, the way the Skin.ini file is set up, the part where the address is inputted doesn't have that iPod look. What i wanted was for the top part(address input) to have the same background color as the "screen." Then the highlighting to have an opposite contrast look (dark grey bg and white letters). However the selBGClr=(in the Skin.ini file) controls the address input bg color and the highlight color.

    I also had trouble finding the right color. SilentAdmirer informed me that it was in decimal value. For example, white would be 16777215 instead of FFFFFF. So tried to find a hexadecimal to decimal converter, but that didn't help too much. When i finally found a converter it reported white at 255255255. So the colors are a little off.

    I dont know if that made any sense, but i was forced to have the highlight text to become a red instead of the opposite contrast that i wanted.

    here is the link to for download www.samedychoun.com/ipod

    Any feedback would be welcome.

    enjoi.

    Nice skin. But the directory name need not be Radar. You can make a seperate directory named iPod in the skin directory. and in DashPC.ini replace skin=Radar to
    skin=ipod. I will take a look at the color problem and get back to you
