Actually it ran fine for about 4 miles and then crashed. I didn't have a chance to test it while at lunch today but I will install the fix and test it on the way home. Thanks for the quick work SilentAdmirerOriginally Posted by SilentAdmirer

Can someone help with this weird behaviour?
Using Voices beta (with above fix), car stationary on drive, engine running, voice commands work fine. As soon as the car starts moving the voice commands stop working. IMO there is no extra noise inside the car so mic should be OK. Could it be something to do with GPS sensing movement & somehow crashing voice commands.
I'm stumped.

Interesting. There is no direct connection between GPS and voice commands. BTW does the voice command work again when you stop ? If it does not then there is a bug somewhere in the code that crashes the voice command or else there should be some extra noise which the mic is picking up I don't know from where and hence cannot distinguish between the Voice command and noise. Rite now I cannot do a field test as the carPC monitor is out for upgrade to VGA. But the simulation I ran on my Dev PC, it worked fine during motion. So I guess it has to be extra noise.

The voice command does NOT start working again when I stop. I have to restart voices application & it will work OK again till I move off again. Initially thought it must be extra noise, but the error starts (stops) as soon as I start reversing or going forward, however slowly, so there would not be any noticeable increase in noise at that stage. Maybe i'll try & get another mic & see if that worksOriginally Posted by SilentAdmirer

if the voice command does not start again then there is a bug in the software . Will take a look in the evening.

@SA do not look into this issue unnecessarily. Just tried the system again and the voice recognition DOES work again when stopped after moving without restarting the app. May therefore be a noise problem / crap mic. Anyone recommend a good mic available in UK. Also mic is plugged into mic socket on computer. Would the line in socket be a better option. Presently running on W2K - is app more stable on XP?Originally Posted by SilentAdmirer

Great Program!!!
I am attempting to run VOICES inside of MediaCar. It integrates very nice, except if you don't click the "house" in voices and attempt to exit out of MediaCar it crashes everything. VOICES, MediaCar, and even Explorer for a little while. Is there anyway to make MediaCar be able to exit and have your program die clean? Might not be possible. Other than that crash the module runs perfect in MediaCar, so far.
To integrate into MediaCar I run my skin at 800x545 and it looks perfect, except for the add route, setup screen. The background image on this screen starts to double up and sometimes there will be multiple toolbars. A lot of times the background is to messed up to even use it, but all the functionality is there. Figured maybe something simple with the skin. It only does this inside MediaCar in this one screen. Here is a screenshot.
Non-MediaCar:
Can someone explain the toolbar to me. I don't fully understand what the F, F+, X, - really represent. X and - seem to do similiar things and F+ never seems to do anything.
When you have atleast one route in your route setup and you startup Voices it automatically picks that route and makes a plan for it. Is there a way to turn this off? I want to select my route at bootup and not have it choose pick one for me. I think there is a bug as well because when I first startup VOICES it will pick my route from the list and re-calculate it like 5 or 6 times when it first starts. This is only when you first load it.
For some street addresses when you click the "EYE" in the route setup, instead of showing you the route it will zoom all the way out and show you the entire world?
This program rocks and is the best car GPS software I have played with yet. VOICES ROCKS!!!!!!!
@veetid
With Media car its a known problem and am working on it. Till then you can run as non embedded application and it should work fine.
F : To switch to Fav mode
F+: Address the current selected location to the fav the file it stores the location in fav.dat you can open it in notepad and take a look
X : remove all the selected route. if you have only one selected route works like -
Re-calculation on start up looks like a bug will take a look at it.
There seems to be some problem getting the address to view in mp 2004.
