What is BBcode

[WIKI]BBcode[/WIKI] is a simply language that wraps words in square brackets to correlate to certain html tags. For example instead of the html <b> you would use the [WIKI]BBcode[/WIKI] [B]

How to Edit

Editing using [WIKI]BBcode[/WIKI] is quite simple. You can format an article using [WIKI]BBcode[/WIKI] by either typing the tags, or by using the toolbar (recommended).

Tags & Toolbar

Below is the [WIKI]BBcode[/WIKI] toolbar.


Here is a list of common [WIKI]BBcode[/WIKI] tags:
  • Bold
    Wraps [B] tags around selected text. You can also use CTRL + B.
  • Italics
    Wraps [I] tags around selected text. You can also use CTRL + I.
  • Underline
    Wraps [U] tags around selected text. You can also use CTRL + U.
  • Left-Align Text
    Wraps [LEFT] tags around selected text.
  • Center-Align Text
    Wraps [CENTER] tags around selected text.
  • Right-Align Text
    Wraps [RIGHT] tags around selected text.
  • Numbered List
    Creates a numbered list. A popup is displayed to guide you through, making the process MUCH easier!
  • Bulleted List
    Creates a bulleted list. A popup is displayed to guide you through, making the process MUCH easier!
  • Decrease Indent
    Currently, I'm not sure what this does...
  • Increase Indent
    Wraps [INDENT] tags around selected text.
  • Insert Link
    Creates a clickable link. A popup is displayed to enter the URL. Edit the text between the [URL] tags to edit what is displayed. The actual URL should be located inside the opening [URL] tag, using an equals (=) sign.
  • Remove Link
    Removes [URL] tags, leaving only the display text.
  • Insert E-mail
    Wraps [EMAIL] tags around selected text. The actual e-mail address should be inside the opening [EMAIL] tag, using an equals (=) sign, and enclosed in double-quotes. The display text should be inside the two [EMAIL] tags.
  • Insert Image
    Wraps [IMG] tags around selected text. The URL for the image should be in between the [IMG] tags, to display on the screen.
  • Quoting
    Wraps [QUOTE] tags around selected text. Displays selected text as a quote. To include the "Originally quoted by:" in the header of the quote, place the name of the original poster in the opening tag, after an equals (=) sign.
  • Code
    Wraps [CODE] tags around the selected text. This is used to display code.
  • PHP
    Wraps [PHP] tags around selected text.
  • Highlight
    Places [HL] tags around selected text. Brightly highlights the text.
