The 15000 file limit is probably due to memory constraints in the IC that drives the system, its a Telechips IC that is probably used by quite a few manufacturers. I have found that when using a HDD with a lot of files causes quite a delay before playback starts, that may be due to the pre-production unit that I have.

I am in the middle of deciding between the two, the shop is waiting on me to make the order for the Z2, drop me a line at lunapark@perigee.net when you find out.
