And as for using the M2-ATX to power your laptop. Alright lets fantasize this for a moment. How will you be connecting the M2 to the laptop? I say go for it if your laptop has an ATX connector that you can plug into.

Look in the mp3car store for laptop power units such as the carnetix unit. Search for a laptop shutdown controller.

You will discover that powering a laptop does not require a M2 or any other full PSU. Just a voltage regulator and a good input.
