See, that's the thing. I truely enjoy this stuff. Competing just gives me a venue to keep pushing myself. You know, if I never competed, I'd probably have been fine with my 4 - 12" subs and USAmp US2000 and my Eclipse seperates.
Now that I've experienced the sweet sweet sound...it's like a drug...competing, meeting people, the friends, the job I know have...it all pays off for me...

see, I guess I'm weird... when I look at a component I almost ignore the form factor it happens to be currently packaged in.... when I did my alpine touchscreen & saw the head unit, it didn't bother me too much that it happened to be configured as a motorized flip out... I mean I wouldn't use it in that configuration in my car, but changing that is really a minor obsticle... it's still the hardware & the screen, all I need, just chop it up
well, this thing is the same to me, just because it happens to be a 19" rack unit, doesn't mean it has to stay that way... I have got this & took it apart & it can be made smaller

... the screen & the controls can be remote mounted

....
more details & pictures later.....
I'm very interested in the pictures.
There's only so many things you can shove in a car and keep it driveable. Just finding room for 3 amps, a 15" sub, a computer, distribution for the amps, and distribution for all of the smaller necessities, as well as the alpine brain and display (for now)...well, there's only so much one can do.
Now in about 2 years, I think we'll be getting rid of the back seat...so it's on!
I'm really looking forward to your review of hte DBX and to the pics of it taken apart.
