stripping down the os allows it to run on slower hardware.

Also take note that windows vista embedded is being used to build UMPC and dual din sized carpc solutions. These are meant to run on slower hardware efficiently. And after testing some units from CES it works damn well.

Theres nothing wrong with vista in a carpc, as long as you disable Aero.

My main reason for not running vista on my carpc is it doesnt really support GDI/GDI+ well. And the next verion of RR is all about that.

That being said, Id love to see a roadrunner like frontend that runs off of Windows Automotive (aka windows vista embedded) that's something Id pay for. No need to optimize as its a self contained small OS, yet still have the capability of changing things.
