Alright..
Did the Dell driver package install at all?
It should have..
One last thing to check:
On the Monitor tab under Advanced, there's a checkbox called "Hide modes this monitor cannot display".
See if it's checked - uncheck it, and see if 800x480 shows up in the resolution list.
