Navigon Navigator review
Hi Terran,
I'm an old newbie in that, I registered and posted a couple of lines back in 2003 when I first built my MGB with a EPIA-M and lilliput screen but haven't been on line recently - if you do a search on my posts you'll see some pix.
In the MG, I used PrymeNav but its 3 years old and without locating the disks, I think it may have been v1.0, worked well enough to get my son and I to the Nurburgring but no GB postcode search means its fairly limited here, and the small on-screen buttons meant it was always questionable whether using it was safe! :-(
I've just ordered a Samsung Q1 tablet PC with a view to using it as a mobile PC and transferring between my MG and a Discovery (8" touchscreen) I use as my daily driver, it's a Tablet PC, 900MHz Intel M with 1GB mem and 60GB HD and was thinking of an upgrade on the software especially as my partner and I are driving down to Spain this summer, I liked your review of the Navigon as it reminds me of the professional system in my Audi and wondered whether to take the plunge or wait to see the reviews of Destinations 7.0, one thing that is key is the ability to import own POIs as the Disco is LPG and I'd like to locate stations via the Nav, do you know if both will support that?
Also your screen shots are the same as the German site, I'm assuming the language support for English is there and very good?
Finally, you're fairly local to me and if you wouldn't mind showing me the Navigon software, I'd welcome the chance to look at it before making a decision?
very best regards
Darren Jones
