You could tried using ferrite beads to smooth it out. You could also try to supply the inverter with a clean 12 volt source (eg. powering it on at home with a atx psu) and see if you still see flickering. If you do, then its probably the inverter that is at fault and there may not be anything you can do about it (because most inverters are modified sine wave). You would need a pure sine wave inverter to correct it.
