Using splitters is not the problem here. It is how it is wired. He has split the right channel and is feeding one amp of the right channel and split the left channel and feeding his sub amp on that channel.

My guess is he is passing a full range signal to his subs causing them to go crazy as volume increases. Make sure your x-over switch on your audiobahn A8000T is set to LPF. Using the amps RCA outs to feed second amp is the way to go. It will shorten his cable runs and he should be able to use the high pass filter on his second 4 channel amp to run his door speakers.
