So now I have a question... are you out of your mind?

You dont want to be stranded in the middle of nowhere because your mac mini drained your battery. But you dont want a 2nd battery to counteract that problem...instead you want to hack your mac to do something that is totally ludicrous when it comes down to sheer time, work and effort. Buy a 2nd battery OR dont worry about leaving the Mini in sleep, gimme a break dood, if you leave your car for a week, yeah shut it down, but otherwise, sleep wont drain.

People that says stuff like this irritate the hell out of me.

1. Why do you want something draining your battery in your car while it is not on and not running? Even though it's a slight drain, some of us don't want to spend extra money and add extra weight to our cars for another battery, in fact some of us want as small a battery as possible.

2. I have a carnetix P2140, which I can send a pulse to the mac mini power button upon ignition on/off or even a signal from my car remote. So let me get this straight, this guy sees no advantage to being able to turn on and off the computer this way?

3. " if you leave your car for a week, yeah shut it down, but otherwise, sleep wont drain." Yeah, HOW? That's what we are all talking about! I'd prefer to do this by turning off my ignition. Not by having to poking around (3 times) on my touchscreen to go to apple->shutdown->Ok THEN turn my hardwired switch off to begin the carnetix shutdown process. To me, thats a pain in the ***.

4. I think people that make these comments are wannabes that don't own a car computer, and don't think far enough and envision what problems they will run into when they do have one.
