What confuses me is that the
USB hub that is referenced in god_of_cpu's article looks to me like a bus powered one. It says so on the packaging and I don't see an external input. Shouldn't the output of the Carnetix be connected to the external power input of the hub?
Also, if the hub is big enough, couldn't the relay and the power regulator just be built in to the hub case? That might make access to all the power leads easier.
