The 900 is the original version of the F#1 processor. It can handle 11 channels of audio processing while the 990 can only handle 8. The 900 connects via serial while I believe hte 990 connects via USB.

Also of EXTREME importance is that the 990 REQUIRES the Alpine F#1 CD player while the 900 does not.

Oops! My mistake. I did mean to have the text for the link state 990 even though I was aware of the 900. Changing now. And you are correct, the 990 is USB.

BTW. I also had PXA not PXI.
