I assume that the problem is Vista volume control virtualization which SD needs to work around (such as described here, for example,
http://blogs.msdn.com/larryosterman/...ows-vista.aspx)
However, there is a quick solution that should work (read - I haven't tried it, but think it will work): right click on the SD shortcut and click on the compatibility tab, make SD run in XP SP2 compatibility mode which turns off various (including volume) virtualization.
