Ok folks...well...I guess installing a mac is always a work in progress. I was unhappy with my first install, (see pics two threads down). SO I went back to the drawing board and re-designed everything. People on here were correct, it is not the wiring that is difficult but it is the hardware posititioning that is hard.
As you can see, the screen is an in-dash xenarc manual flip 700IDT (Full review coming in a few weeks)
The mac..was originally situated on a leather tray directly under the heating control. You can see the cut-out in the dash that were made for it. I priced out that part from honda and it is $48cnd....so a replacement is coming soon. I removed the stereo deck from the bottom (where the old tape deck was) and thats where I put he mac. It is actually sitting on a sliding tray (no wheels), just aluminum rails. You can see a black lip that i connected for a handle. It works like a charm, and there is no movement at all. Just above it, you'll see the dash is cut (about 2 inches in width) that was made for my originial install with the tray. I'm gonna keep that cut-away space and use it to place a usb and FW400 cable.
The mini tucks away nicely and extends outward as well. Best of all it is hollow underneath it. The stereo deck is now in my dash (upside down - it won't fit any other way).
MY ONLY problem is the wiring...there is just so much of it, and i'm not sure how to secure it. Right now it's near the passenger seat by the feat..i'm afraid of water hitting the wires in the winter. Anyhow, here are the pics
I'll post more images later on today
