I know the description is German but the program is English :-)
You must specify the com port in the config page too. On one of my PC's the config button froze the program so I edited it manually in the OBD-DIAG.ini file. OBD-DIAGV1.01.00 definitely supports the ELM hardware because I am using my ELM320 with this version of the software.
It would also appear that the com support is limited....so if you are using a USB ELM327 I suggest that you change the port to com1 and specify this in the config.
