Hi All, well I stumbled across this issue again in Vista (had some hope that it would work there) and again mailed FTDI support since although the older version works, it conflicts with my OBD-II software whereas the newer driver does not. This time, I got an answer:

I do have a dual core PC
I have not tried these files yet, but it sounds like they've addressed the issue! Files attached.
