cracked touchscreen

The first posts in this thread seem to indicate that the touchscreen used is a standard 4-wire resistive touchscreen (the OP even connects it to a USB controller and it works). If that is the case, then your challenge will be to find that particular touchscreen OR another 4 wire touchscreen with a cable long enough to reach the connector on the nav unit. If you haven't worked with the FFC (flat flexible cable) that is used to connect touchscreens before, you should know that it is not something that can be extended or bent easily, so finding a touchscreen where the FFC exits in or near the stock location would be of paramount importance.

I think you could certainly accomplish this if you don't mind doing a bit of work and research...sure beats paying $2K+ for a <$50 part.

Good luck.

Thank you very much for your reply, parksgm. Yes, the LCD screen is OK as I can see everything in the same color as it used to be, no bleeding colors or dark spots anywhere, just cracks. I wonder if I can find this particular screen at some shop maybe, who sells Acura's touchscreens only (as parts). Also, do you know by any chance, who is the maker of Acura nav screens? Is it Alpine by any chance? Once I know the real manufacturer, I could try contacting them directly and see how much they charge for the touchscreen only. But I will definitely research more on that as I'm not in rush to fix it-it works fine, just I want to get rid of this problem eventually and not pay $2K+, which is ridiculous.
Thank you again and I appreciate your response.
Leo.
