Here is what I found...
First issue has been present before, I just didn't notice it since I was using the hqct most of the time, but... when the buffer is on the silabs unit has an echo (you can hear both the live music and the buffer) if you pause it, itll play live and not have the echo.
Going back to the issue with XM/radio and the buffer. For some reason after uninstalling and reinstalling, the XM buffer no longer works. I can get it to play without the buffer, but when the buffer is turned back on, it does nothing. I cannot pause and the sound card isn't processing anything it as I dont hear anything from the sub (no upmixxing).
Also, there still is no audio from the hqct. If I go into the windows mixer, I can unmute it and hear it just fine.
One thing to note, with my audigy LS sound card, only one input can be unmuted at a time. Meaning, when I manually go into the windows mixer (with CF open or not) and unmute aux-in (HQCT) and then try to unmute the line-in (XM) the aux-in will then mute automatically. I can mute them all, but cannot unmute more than one of them at a time.
Could this be cause for the issues I am experiencing? I still dont understand why I cannot hear the radio/HQCT at all but I don't know much about how it all should work.
I hope this helps you/I figure out what to do next...
Another thing to mention to all of those people with slow load times. I had all of the default plug-ins loading for the past few weeks. Tonight I took David's advice and removed the e-mail, OBD-II, and CAM plug ins (those I dont use), and set the nav engine to none. It started up at least 10 seconds faster with those removed!
your issue with the Silabs is normal, it uses it's own sound device and I have to update the Radio interface to support radio devices with their own sound devices, the current Silabs radio module only works in non-buffer mode...
All the other issues appear to be because of your soundcard, I will look to try and get one of these so I can actually test and reproduce these issues... It appears my mixer code is not properly controlling the audigy... Can you take screenshots of all the sections for this soundcard in the windows mixer? The properties page with the drop down expanded, the recording section, the playback section, etc...
