OK, i think i've got it.

I managed last night to find a nice spot to mount the screen using the included base that comes with it. I dont want to screw the base into the monitor from the bottom hole though.
I bent the metal foot of the base to make a U shape out of it so it fits flat on my air vents and inbetween the seams just like this thing

and is surprisingly quite stable too!

Can i use the included base to somehow connect it to the back of the monitor??? I figure i should be able to make something like in my first post but only using the included base. We'll see. Time for a trip to home depot on my way home from work.
