Dude in car applications::::
12v constant will always be YELLOW
12v accesory will always be RED
ground will always be BLACK

This applies to aftermarket products. Usually the factory or manufacturer of specific vehicles choose to use there OWN damn color codes. For example my car has a BLUE 12v accessory line. WTF? lol

Your best friend is a multi-meter as well.
1. Turn your ignition all the way OFF. Search for 12v. Once you find it, that is your CONSTANT 12v line.
2. Turn your ignition to the accesory point. Search for 12v. Do not search in the wire you already found in step ONE!. Once you find it, double check and turn your ignition off, if you loose 12v then you just found your 12v accessory line.
3. Ground is Ground wich is any UNPAINTED spot of the chassis.

Good luck.
