Yeah, you would, however, it's much slower at updating (once a second or once every couple of seconds) and it won't show acceleration very well. Having a constantly moving dial/figure can show you the acceleration and speed much more accurately.

I was considering doing that until I went out with my laptop with GPS hooked up, and saw just how long it took to stabalise to a certain speed
