FIRST EVER ST LOUIS AREA MEET: Saturday, April 19th, 2008, 11AM at Casino Queen RV Park

Casino Queen RV Park, off River Park Drive in East St Louis, IL. There's easy access from 40, 44, 55, 64, 70, and all points north, south, east, or west. For those with GPS: 38.6269°N -90.1683°W. For everyone else,

The Casino Queen has graciously agreed to allow us on the property free of charge for our gathering and photo shoot (I think they expect some folks to spend the night in their hotel or at least patronize the casino - I made no promises). In case of inclement weather, I will have an RV available to meet in. I will be providing two slabs of ribs and encourage all attendees to bring whatever food and refreshments you care to consume. The Rv park has a convenience store that we can patronize with bathrooms, playground, barbecue grills, and covered pavilions within 100yds of the meet location. This is the first of hopefully many, so just keep an eye out for us.
About the Meet:
For those unfamiliar with the MP3Car meets, everyone welcome, regardless of whether you have a system installed or not. It's a chance to show up and shoot the **** with car pc enthusiasts. A chance to check out one another's installs, bounce ideas off each other, you get the idea. I will be bringing a grill and a refrigerator, and everyone generally shows up with random food related items. If you have a taste for something, grilled or otherwise, bring it along, otherwise just show up. I expect us to be there from 11AM until dusk, so come when you can and leave when you have to. I chose this location specifically for pictures with he St Louis skyline as the backdrop - there is no better location anywhere!
If this goes well, I'd love to emulate the Chicago meets with scheduled monthly gatherings. This post will be updated as the thread/year progresses.
