Not sure you saw it since I added it after you responded, but since I installed the Imon, I don't remember ever using the touchscreen while driving.

Touchscreens are a great novelty, but in practice, I think buttons are better. Not to say I would give up my touch either. Heck, I broke the touchscreen overlay yesterday and freaked out so bad I made them overnight another.
