#1 Went to update the bios, found I was already running A04. Was going to flash to A03 anyway, didnt seem to work (was using the awdflash v8.83 recommended on the Jetway site). Followed the instructions, but it just sat there blinking at me. One problem was that I was doing it with a floppy drive, the bios file is 1 meg so there wasnt room for the A03 and the backup of the one I had in there when I started on the same disk, so in the end I figured why tempt fate. Im running A04, which should work (but Im still getting the problem (more below).

#2 Looking for something else to do I started poking around on the bios pages looking for a solution (well trying different things that may or may not affect it).
I found an item under PnP config that allowed me to "power display at boot" with choices for PCI or Onboard. It was set to power PCI first (Im using the onboard graphics) so I set it for Onboard.

Prior to poking around, about half the time I booted the pc in the car I got no video on post (just a white screen).

After changing the above mentioned item, I get the white screen about one in ten times I boot. So I cant say I fixed it but it seems to be better.

#3 I also pulled the monitor and pc out of the car and tested it on the bench with an ac powersupply due to questions about "running the display cables alongside the power wires and possibly effecting the vga signal" and also because although I used a very good shielded vga cable, I ran it to the back of the car thru a speaker enclosure, hence right near a big magnet. No luck, still had the problem with the pc and monitor out of the car and on clean power. So the idea that it has something to do with either the signal or the power is not looking good.

Question :

Is anyone here running WinXP SP2 on a Jetway J9F2 KHDE with a Xenarc Monitor ?

Just asking because while many have been kind enough to reply with fixes that work for them, it would be helpful to know if anyone has got this working with exactly the equipment Im using?

I'm running the same setup. Except with A03 bios. Try using the windows utility from jetways website under "downloads" (Stated above) It's called winflash. This allows you to flash the bios through windows.

Back to what you stated above about my issue, is it bad to run the system the way I do. I'm not using standby. When I turn the car off, then on, windows or whatever i had running is still showing, so I don't think it's sleeping.
