Finding motherboards with really fast post times would probably be the biggest decrease in boot times for most of us.
POST is only 2-3 seconds (if I understand what POST exactly is). The screen that flashes hardware details soon after initial powerup?
I enabled quick startup and disabled mem checking and via logo display in BIOS,
Often times, I don't even see the initial screen after power up. It's all blank, then the XP logo screen flashes for 1 second, goes blank and then takes RR 7 seconds from the splash screen to playing music. That is all in an average of 38 secs. PC is warmed up too.
