There are a few threads on this but nothing conclusive about which cam is the best. Some people go for the license plate attached spycam type cameras and a few others have tried USB based webcam versions.

Again, nothing really conclusive on any of them. A lot of people with Xenarc screens like the license plate cams since the Xenarcs automatically switch to the camera when power is applied. Normally they are connected to the reverse lights so when you back out of your driveway the cam turns on automatically.

Do a few searches on this and you'll see several examples of what people are currently using.

You do however get what you pay for so the $20/ebay webcams dont give you the picture quality of the $100 dedicated backup camera. The issue with these are ease of installation since they can require a modified housing or hole in your trunk.
