Hi all; I TOTALLY spaced on updating folks with the results of using this $8 dongle that I got off of eBay. Things may be all for naught now, but I at least wanted to close the loop on what I promised.

So...

As a refresher, I'm talking about this dongle: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=310022462432

The dongle is sitting here working happily on my work PC. No, I haven't pointed CF 2.0 at it. This is JUST working in Windows and letting me use my phone to work off-grid.

Install was "easy", but the included CD actually had drivers for a GPS - nothing to do with Bluetooth.

Stuffing the dongle into my PC though brought up the normal Windows dialog and I just let it go looking. The dongle ID'd itself as "ISSCEDRBTA" and Windows _DID_ find drivers for it on it's own. Then the MSFT Bluetooth enumerator came in, then another driver, and all done!

Control panel, MSFT BT Wizard, discover... done!

Very painless.

Again, I know this could be moot since CF 2.0 is out, and I don't know if this is CSR, but i wanted to close a loop that I'd left open.

$7 shipped from here:

$5 plus shipping from here:

I don't have any immediate plans to install CF 2.0 so I can't close that end of the loop just yet.
